There was a history, a legend, I don't know if it's true or not. But there was a sad story between roro mendut and his lover, ponocitro, a beautiful woman who worked as a cigarettes seller hundred years ago.nnThey both were killed by king's squad because they tried to escape from Jogja. The King was falling in love with roro mendut and forced her to be his next wives. But Roro Mendut couldnot accept king's request. She loved Ponocitro and they tried to escape from jogja. Sadly, after 12 hours in jungle, king's squads pursued this couple and found them. Ponocitro was executed first, he was died in tortured and tragic end. Roro Mendut was executed and killed next.
