Jellyfish Lake

Known locally as Danau Ubur-Ubur Lanmakana, this is one of only 3 such inland lakes inhabited by jellyfish in the world, others in Philippines. It's quite remote and only accessible by a small cruise ship from West Papua (Sorong). Large cruise ships were banned from entering the area after one caused damage to the coral. After reaching the island, it is a moderately difficult climb to the top of the ridge then down to the lake. The climb is not so much physically demanding as dangerous. You swim with the jellyfish, none of them sting. There are a lot of them! Unique experience.

This jellyfish lake is very beautiful, we can swim while taking photos or having videos with jellyfish without having to be afraid of being stung.
