Besançon Synagogue

This is one spectacular building of moorish architecture in Besançon. Walked past this along Quai de Strasbourg on the Doubs River side. Classed as Hispano-Moorish style, it really shows its majestic façades with utterly beauty! It was built to replace one that used to be at Rue de la Madeleine due to population growth. Unfortunately, unlike churches, this synagogue is only accessible to the Jewish community. I'm glad I walked past here and witness an unusual but stupendous synagogue.

This religious building located along the quays is impressive by its Moorish style and the delicacy of its rather atypical architecture.nUnfortunately closed to visitors, the interior must also be worth a look but security requires only the internet to get an idea.
