It is a historical reality that must be accepted, that East Timor as the 27th province of the Republic of Indonesia, has now become an independent state, separate from the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI)nnThe process of struggle for the integration of East Timor into the territory of the Republic of Indonesia from 1976 to 1999 was a struggle that represented an invaluable dedication and sacrifice of the entire Indonesian nation, especially for the East Timor fighters.nnAs a form of respect for the services of these fighters, the Indonesian government built the Seroja monument. The construction of the Seroja Monument is a symbol of respect and appreciation as well as historical facts about the meaning of the sacrifice of the Indonesian struggle in East Timor.nnThe determination of the location of the monument in Jakarta is intended to make it easier for the relatives and the people of Indonesia to remember the services of those who have died in carrying out the duties of Operation Seroja in East Timor.nnSeroja Monument is built on a land area of ​​126 × 92.5m2. The physical building consists of two contemplation buildings, namely the Initial Contemplation and the Final Contemplation, each measuring 6x6m2. The panel is in the form of 23 flags, at the top there is a relief of the struggle for East Timor, while the lower part is written the names of the seroja fighters who died in East Timor. The Seroja Pool is a fountain in the form of sacred flower petals in the middle of which there is a monument. The Seroja Monument is equipped with an inner and outer hallway as well as infrastructure consisting of a shaded building, an information room, and a toilet covering an area of ​​93 m2 and a parking area of ​​390 m2.nnSeroja Monument is a monument of respect and a monument to the history of struggle and development in the Province of East Timor which for 23 years was part of the Republic of Indonesia from 1976 to 1999.
