The museum was built in conjunction with the Second World War History Museum in 2016 and was opened in 2018. The purpose of this museum was built as historical evidence that Tarakan City is one of the oil and gas producing regions.nnPetroleum has been explored in Tarakan since 1896 by a Dutch oil company. Batavia Petroleum Machappai (BPM) a well-known Dutch oil drilling company and many Tarakan residents have at least heard of BPM. oil and gas still produced Tarakan's stomach until now. PT. Presenting the history of oil in Indonesia, especially in Tarakan. We can see the tools, the conditions of the oil exploration process at the beginning of the mining period. It is quite interesting, because there are many tools that we don't see anymore today. Unfortunately, there is less exposure, so visitors are still rare.
