1. Don’t let anyone touch your luggage, they will charge you for carrying it for younn2. Don’t go with the horse car if you already have a shuttle, just keep walking up the road and ask for the name of your transport company. Ours’ was about 300 meter up road from ferry terminal. There you can also take blue bird taxi.nn3. Don’t trust people in the Harbour telling you there is no shuttle for several hours, they are lying to younnWorst place in our trip so far (traveling for 2 months now)! Just a bunch of scammers! Our ticket was from Gili T to Kuta Lombok, 200 000 rupies. Once we found the transport company (or actually one of their staff found us), we felt “safe” again.

This is the worst port that I have ever been, lots of scammers and is very difficult to find the official ticket office to buy your tickets because everyone is just trying to harass you. Someone tried to take my bags, another person on the left side forced me very aggressive to buy the boat from him....is a worst place that I ever been in all Asian countries. Hope they will lose in one day all the tourists. I will never recommend this place, especially for single travelers. I will never return here.

Bangsal Harbour, the disappointing gateway to your enjoyable Gili destination.nnSuch a terrible experience having to navigate through this Harbour to and from Gili islands, basically just a constant racquet to scam tourists.nnI strongly recommend holding on to your own luggage in this harbour, do not allow a porter to touch it or you are strongly at risk of being scammed to retrieve your luggage.nnEven the trustworthy metered Taxi from Blue Bird company have been excluded from entering the harbour in an attempt to rort tourists with taxi fare scams.nnWhen arriving at Bangsal from Gili islands you will need to walk approx 500-600m down the main road in order to leave the main gates to the harbour area, keep walking until you find a number of blue bird taxi parked on the left side of the road waiting in an unsealed car park.nnA Blue Bird metered Taxi should be around $100k IDR in good traffic, about 30-40min trip from Bangsal to Sengiggi (just experienced now first hand around 10:30am on a Saturday in low season).nnWith regards to boat transport to Gili islands through this harbour, public 'slow' boat will cost $15k IDR plus environmental levy to enter Gili marine area, bringing total cost to $22k IDR per person. There are fast boat options available for purchase through the official ticket terminal for $85k IDR per person, there are many other fastboat options advertised aggressively at varying costs above this point depending on how much you like to be taken advantage of.nnSee attached photo for some published advice on this same topic.

Was verbally assaulted and harrased by a driver who wouldn't take no for an answer (he tried to get physical with us but we walked away from it as the altercation could lead to some pretty unpleasant consequences). Don't recommend coming through this port if you're a buleh because you will be overcharged for a taxy and pestered by multiple guys trying to get you to go with them. unless you walk a couple of hundred meters up the road to get a grab or taxy and so on you will have no option but to go with one of these mildly dodgy guy. Be careful.
