Excellent day trip snorkelling with turtles & amazing sea lifennWe wanted to go snorkelling by the Gili Islands and to see turtles but the hotel warned us that we’d only see turtles if we were very lucky. However, John’ knowledge of the area meant we saw 6 turtles and so much sea life besides.nWe were picked up promptly at the hotel and went to the boat- a little drive away. This and his team were friendly from the start and very keen to talk not only about sea life but the history and culture of Lombok. Andy helmed the boat and also swam with us as did John. They used their detailed knowledge of the area to find us the best opportunities and experiences. Absolutely fantastic!! Fish and corals of all colours- you can’t help but feel that it won’t be long before this has disappeared due to Man’s impact on the environment. A fabulous home made lunch made by John (don’t forget that the family runs a cookery school so they know how to make a tasty lunch) plus snacks of melon and water during the day.nWe made numerous dives (the full face masks cleaned between dives were great) and saw an enormous 60 yr old turtle on the final dive as well as 5 others prior to that. Fish of all colours and much more made the trip outstanding.nWe can’t recommend John’ trip highly enough- nobody else around plus all you need for a simply amazing day. Highly recommended- that’s the trip as well as Chris, Amir and all the sea life!
