The resort is Eco friendly (part 1) they also have a 'normal' resort with AC rooms (part 2). I loved the Eco friendly rooms. Spacious with sea view (on the sea). The electricity runs from 5-11pm which is enough to charge. The food which is served 3x a day is delicious.nThe staff is very friendly and very helpful. We could plan some activities with them and they advised us what was best for the day/time. In August the wind comes from the south so that means higher waves, this makes it difficult to see all the activities /islands. But still enough to do!nRaja Ampat is a bit more expensive than you are used from Indonesia. Almost everything is by boat, short trips are a bit cheaper when shared with other passengers (ask the staff from any stay you are at).nI would very much recommend Doberai Private Island, Eco Resort (stay minimum of 3 days).

A really chill place with great diving – but only for a few days due to its rustic feelnnPros: The resort oozes with character. The bungalows have the best views you will *ever* have. The food exceeded my expectations by being varied, ample, and really good. The diving also exceeded our expectations. The divemaster will take his camera and will give you all the pictures afterwards if you like.nnCons: It lacks customer comforts that make it hard for me to stay too long. The biggest two issues were the lack of fresh water for showering & rinsing gear. Second was the heat. Note the dive gear is very basic and was over-used. “Eco Resort” doesn’t fit with the resort. I think the better term would be “Rustic Resort”nnNote: We stayed at the resort for 3 days after our liveaboard to enjoy the local islands and get a few more dives in. They are a 25 minute boat ride from the main Waisai dock where all the liveaboards are currently starting from. Speak with your liveaboard since they may even be able to transfer you directly to Doberi or Waisai after your trip (vs Sorong). As it worked out, we were the only two diving clients during our stay therefore we could pick the sites and dive times we preferred. Our guide had lots of experience and was able to take us on harder (current) dives thanks to the smaller group. This personal touch is impossible to beat. It also helped that we saw many mantas, wobbegongs, a whale shark and had really great dives.nBut let’s be honest, the resort is a bit rustic so go in with your expectations set to have some inconveniences. But this is “real” Indonesia and your money is going to 100% locals and not a company or owner from Bali or outside of Indonesia.

The location is amazing. Unfortunatly, the food was hard to swallow. The rooms insecure. The staff unprofessional. The dive trips poorly prepared.
