a lovely place that deserves more attention from us.nThis park is the home of hundreds beautiful animal and the home of the rare Sumatran Tigers. The land is so wet that you might need to wear a boot that fit for that kind of land and you'll also need an extra stamina to reach some of the park best point.

Berbak National Park is a nature conservation area for the conservation of the largest swamp forest in Southeast Asia that has not been touched by human exploitation. Its uniqueness is in the form of an interesting combination between peat swamp forest and freshwater swamp forest that runs along the east coast of Sumatra.nnPlant species in the national park include meranti (Shorea sp.) And various types of palm trees. Berbak National Park is famous for having the most species of ornamental plant palm trees in Indonesia. Ornamental plant species that are rare palm leaf umbrella covering types (Johanesteijmannia altifron), as well as newly discovered species, Lepidonia kingii (Lorantaceae), which has large flowers with red / purple.nnYou can see hundreds or even thousands of migratory birds in this national park, which can make you astonished if the birds fly in groups.nnAt the entrance to the western part of the national park you can walk along the Air Hitam Dalam river. Called Black Water Inside because the color of the water is black like coffee. At low tide, animal dung, leaf litter and others from the mangrove forest are carried by river water to the Batanghari River and then to the sea.nnThe Berbak National Park is not only protected nationally, but also internationally by making it an International Wetlands at the RAMSAR Convention in 1992.

A sexy place, though a bit scary. I and the team had the opportunity to expedition here. Take a motorboat but the road is slow. It takes around 2 hours from Air Hitam Laut Village. Accompanied by the forest rangers and firearms. So it's kind of how it feels protected. Upon arrival there is a monitoring post for animal activities. There are board roads / bridges being built to be able to walk through the forest.
