This Islamic boarding school was founded around 1991 AD by a son of Karang Mendapo Village, Pauh District, Sarolangun Regency (formerly known as SARKO-Sarolangun Bangko), Jambi Province.nnHe was named H. Abdul Ghani Abdullah who was born and raised in Karang Mendapo village and was known by the surrounding community as a philanthropist.nnThis Islamic boarding school is named AL-MANAR. The name is taken from the name of a famous ulama book namely Sheikh Muhammad Abduh and Sheikh Muhammad Rasyid Ridha, Muslim intellectual figures who combine religious knowledge with science.nnThe leader (Mudir) of Al-Manar Islamic Boarding School was entrusted to Buya Abdullah Shoefie Manshoor, a Jambi native who was born in haram and spent his childhood in Makkah al-Mukarramah.
