We've stayed few days in Lavalon during pandemic time (sep-oct 2020).nnEdwin, the owner is doing a lot of effort to assure that his guest feel safe and clean without losing their comfort, like installing automatic system for washing hand with sensor. We've been traveling around in Indonesia during pandemic time and Lavalon is surely one of the hotel/guest house which provides such kind of automatic system. Rooms are air-conditioned, also with ceiling fan, hot water is really hot, bed is very comfortable with clean cotton sheets.nnLavalon can also provide great home-made fresh meals and juice, like squids in green sauce, grilled fish, etc. His mango juice is so tasty, fresh and light without adding extra sugar. As backpackers, we feel comfortable, welcomed and secure during our stay in Lavalon Kupang.

Fantastic place, super chill atmosphere. The owner is incredibly thoughtful, will bring you tea or coffee all day, and his food is the tastiest in Kupang. You get to sit and watch the ocean from the common space, and the surrounding area has anything you might need - markets, restaurants, bars, shopping areas as well as the beach (or a pier for those not very fond of sand). The obvious choice for those visiting Kupang, don't miss it!

I stayed at Lavalon on three separate occasions during my time traveling around Timor. Edwin was super knowledgeable about the entire Timor area and he made sure I had the information I needed to travel around. The private rooms have great hot water pressure that I haven't experienced elsewhere in Timor. Treat yourself to the window room to get a great view of the ocean. He's a great cook and makes the most delicious mango smoothie on this side of Nusa Tenggara!

This hostel is wonderful!! Most comfortable bed and hottest shower I've had in weeks. Plus there's AC and breakfast is included! It's on the water and so pleasant to just sit in one of the hammocks and chill out. Edwin, the owner, is so nice. He's full of information on what to do in Timor, and even future travel plans (cheapest way to travel, boat schedules, you name it). He drove me to the consulate himself so I could apply for my visa for Timor Leste and rented us his scooter so we could see the island. The hostel is also a two minute walk to the night market where we had great fish - but ask Edwin to grill some fish for you!! It makes for the perfect night to sit around with a few Bintangs and eat fresh fish with him!

The owner of the hostel is very helpful and friendly. The pancake that is served for breakfast is delicious. The owner is also a chef and cooked fish for me that was the best tasting fish I have eaten. The hostel is in a good location and has a nice view of the ocean. The bedroom and bathroom was very clean.
