Awera Resort (Mentawai surf Resort)

We spent amazing surf holidays in Awera Resort! the bungalow are great with lot of space and not too close from each other to have nice intimity. Surf and Yoga teachers were great . Surf sessions were perfect as well for beginners as pro surfers depending the spots.nGreat place to surf and relax.

A perfect place to make surf and stay perfectly disconnected.nWe have been 5 days and the attention has been 10 to 10 by the whole team and especially by the manager Kepa. We did not know how to surf and we have surf lessons with Mikel every morning, it is the best place to learn, perfect waves and few people. We have also done yoga for the first time with Rafael and we have loved it, we have given classes every afternoon to finish the day relaxed.

Beautiful Place with great surf close by!!!nnKepa and his team make you feel at home at land and in the water. Very good communication from the very beginning on (already via mail!).nnthe bungalows are cute, clean, with aircon and with hot water (if it doesn’t work let them know, they will make it work!). The food was amazing, a good mix off western/asian food (iff you wished more western/asian, any other special request; let them know they will make it happen!). Breakfast was great too, many options!nnThey have several boats, so they can and do split groups for surfing; according to the wishes and level off the guests. Many wordclass spots close by (Telescopes is a 10minute boatride...) and even a very fun Right in front off the resort (super shallow though, bring booties!!!). Very good guiding and knowledge off the spots by the surfguides - and always a smile ud83dudc4dud83dude4c. will be back for sure!!!

I've been there for 10 days and for sure the best 10 days I can imagine.nnFirst of all, the resort was in excellent conditions (The rooms were very well equipped and all the facilities too). The Awera Crew were amazing and very careful If you need something. The swimming pool is one of the best things (See the sunset there is something I recommend to everyone).nnThe resort also had 4 boats to go to the spot when do you want with the surfguide Kepa who knows all the waves, tides and winds of the zone. He also know the best forecast to go to Playgrounds (North). We went one day and we surf Rifles with good conditions.nnI recommend this resort to every who wants calm and to surf the best waves.nnFor sure I'll come back as soon as possible.nnAlso huge thanks to Mikel for making the trip possible.

I have spent 10 days at Awera Resort in July- August 2018. More than a resort it is a surf camp with customer service that you would expect in a hostel.nnFacilities: room pretty good except for the fact that there was no hot water. Rating: 4nCommunications: communication was brilliant at the beginning until we booked and confirmed the dates. After that the guy in charge for comms was replying every 4-5 days to the point that I thought it was a scam. Also, if I ask 2 questions why do you reply only to the first one? Rating: 1nFood: totally below expectations. I wasn’t expecting a 2 stars Michelin restaurant but not even burgers for dinner. Also, most of the time they didn’t even have what was supposed to be on the menu as they were running out of coconuts, mango and other stuff. Rating:1nServices: be prepared for “ you should have brought your own stuff…” when I asked to go spearfishing or fishing. What they advertise is not what you get. Rating: 3nCustomer service: the local people were pretty good. The rest of the stuff not that good. They have never asked me about how it was going… apart from when I was leaving. I think you guys need to review the definition of customer service. Rating: 2nnOverall rating: 2nnP.s. the funny think was… when we left we asked for a couple of T-Shirts with the Awera Logo. The manager asked me some money for them. I needed to remind the manager that they actualy needed to give us some money back as a couple of guys didn’t fully use the comfort package which includes a couple of extra things… that was just incredible.
