Founded on August 17, 1971 and obtained a license as a foreign exchange bank in 1972, PaninBank was the result of a merger of the Bank of Prosperity, the Djaja Industrial Bank of Indonesia and the Indonesian Industrial & Trade Bank. PaninBank's decision to become the first bank in Indonesia to go public in 1982, reflects the Bank's high confidence that is still maintained to this day. With strong fundamentals, PaninBank made it through the 1998 Asian financial crisis as a Category A Bank, and subsequently stepped forward to develop its products and services in Retail and Commercial Banking.nnBy maintaining its approach as a local bank with personalized services, PaninBank leveraged its long-standing reputation in the corporate banking segment, to develop into one of the leading SME banks in Indonesia, and to build a strong retail customer base. Through a variety of products and services in the Consumer, SME and Micro, Commercial, Corporate and Treasury banking segments, PaninBank continues to maintain its commitment to grow with proven competencies in creating value in line with the principle of prudence.nnIn the latest developments, PaninBank continues to improve the application of good internal governance processes, and effectively utilize the Information Technology system to respond to the demands of the Bank's growth which in this decade continues to show solid performance. Until the end of 2016, Panin Bank had total assets of Rp199.18 trillion or one of the top 10 national banks. Loans amounted to Rp134.63 trillion and Third Party Funds amounted to Rp142.65 trillion and own capital amounted to Rp34.2 trillion.nnPaninBank continues to improve innovative and value-added products and services through cross selling with Subsidiaries and affiliated companies, particularly sharia banking products and bancassurance products marketed through the Wealth Management Division.nnAt present, Panin Bank is able to provide customer convenience as desired and deserves to be obtained by customers thanks to its growing branch office network and now reaches 564 branches and 973 ATM networks spread from Aceh to Papua. The two main shareholders, PT Panin Financial Tbk (46.04%) and ANZ Bank through Votraint No 1103 Pty Ltd (38.82%), provide strategic support for the Bank to achieve the company's goals. Public share ownership in Panin Bank at the end of 2016 was 15.14%, consisting of domestic and international shareholders, institutions and individuals.
