Upper Pool - Cipanas Galunggung

This is an amended review based on my most recent visit in September 2020. 😁 Galunggung Hot Spring is divided into several pool areas, from the top to the bottom bath and pool as well as the main pool near the entrance. Now this time I discuss the top pool, now the pool is cleaner. Since revitalization is being carried out (I visited in September 2020 morning), the facilities and infrastructure have not been functioning optimally. This pool is more expensive than the lower pool, which is IDR 15,000, - non-weekends and IDR 20,000 on weekends with sufficient facilities, there are toilets, rinse rooms, rental tires (paid) and a mosque and a resting area (gazebo) which is used for public sharing. The atmosphere in the morning is very comfortable with cool air, the pool water is also clean and not too crowded. Get the relax sensation! Late in the afternoon or evening it will be uncomfortable because of the increasing number of visitors, so that the pool is full of people soaking. Access to this place is good, good roads, sufficient lighting at night. In the upper pool, there are two parts of the pool with different depths, namely children (0.5m) and adults (0.8m) where in my opinion, the children's pool feels hotter than the adult pool. Unfortunately, the financing or retribution is not one door, at the main gate you will be charged an area entrance ticket with details of IDR 8,500 / person, motor vehicle fee IDR 1,000 / unit, car 4,000, - / unit. The total entrance fee per person if using a motorbike is IDR 9,500. After arriving at this pool area, you will be charged again a soaking fee of IDR 15,000 / person for non weekends or IDR 20,000 / person on weekends. Pretty confusing right? Trying to enforce one all-in-one ticket will be more practical. And retribution payments can only be made in cash / cash. The toilet area in the upper pool is not highly recommended, with limited units, when it is crowded it is clear that you have to fill in the queue, the lights are off, the door is broken and there are gaps from the outside and the cleanliness is not maintained. This may disturb the comfort of visitors. Even more surprising, the price of goods / clothing, souvenirs or merchandise here is much more expensive than the market, but it doesn't matter if you are interested in buying them because of Galunggung's typical souvenirs. We recommend that you bring enough supplies. The price of food or drink here also makes me shake my head because it is more expensive than usual standards (it's common in tourist attractions, hehe). In this area, there are no lodging / hotel services nearby, so you have to pay attention to the operational schedule. During operations during a pandemic, health protocols are still in effect, before entering the pool area, body temperature tests will be carried out at a special post. The parking area is adequate, but still subject to a fee (no free). Additional information, during the pandemic period the Cipanas Galunggung area only operates until a maximum of 4 pm (16.00).
