Benan Island

It’s a beautiful island, hidden paradise. Ppl are so friendly, peaceful, open and helpful. Everybody is smiling and they all happy ppl! Never experienced this pure innocence in anywhere else! They didn’t see many caucasian ppl here. Nobody speaks English. I had a guide Andy Gleg who lives here part time and traveled all around Indonesia. He speaks Indonesian , English and Hungarian. Everyone knows him in the Island. He helped me to communicate with ppl there and go to other islands around. There are many small islands where you can go with the small boat. Pak Johnny a local guy was taking us to those rides. It was amazing experience!nBenan is a small Island their religion are Muslim. The population is about 500. The village mostly built on the water at the western side. The harbor which is under construction( they are extending it) also at the western side of the island.nThe whole island surrounded by beautiful coral reefs. You don’t even have to go deep. When it’s low tied you can see them on 1m.nThere are tourist area on the eastern part of the island. Beautiful vacation wooden houses close to the beach. Really nice quiet area. Be ready there is no electricity from 6am -6pm. But they about to change it. There is no hot water. The shower is a big bucket of water and you can pour the water on yourself from that.nThe best way to get to Benan if you fly to Singapore to take a boat to Batam harbor from Batam there is a boat once a day to Benan . If you it doesn’t work there is a boat from Tanjungpinang to Benan.

I love the quiet and peaceful of this island. With the blue and clean sea water and white sands.

Cheap sea foods, goats n the ganks everywhere, clear glass sea water, colorful coral and what a paradise I've found!
