I arrived in Waisai with a booking but not a transfer to Friwen Island. Helpful staff at the Tourist Information Centre arranged one before I could finish my coffee. Yes, that fast. (Transfer costs Rp500K one way!) The slim fibre boat was a safety risk (being polite here), I would have been in the sea if not for my experience. Another surprise was waiting for me, the owner was not expecting any guest, under the excuse of not checking his phone. I was checked in to a wooden chalet soon after, the only one and the best, the rest is bamboo chalets. To be fair, they made good quickly and my dinner was served. This homestay is alone in a relatively untouched surrounding with a track through the woods to Friwen Village where other homestays are located. Friwen Wall Island is right in front, across the sea and Pasir Timbul, a submerged beach is a short boat ride away. Coffee facility is available all day. Meals are vegan but I would rather they include fish. The only power socket available is in the kitchen and subject to the elements. The generator was powered down by midnight, probably because I did not want to leave my phone or power bank overnight. The shared bathroom and toilet (one each) are on the other end, use a torchlight, you might step on something nasty.

Very attentive from the first moment. They helped us and offered us drinks while they prepared the room.nThey accompanied us to town.nThe bathrooms are very good for Raja Ampat, decorated with shells, have a mirror, clean, there is a normal shower and toilet paper.nThey also offer to see how they are going to do the day's catch.
