Museum Geopark Batur

I took my family there and it's really nice place, got a valuable experience and knowledge. The staff was very attractive and knowledge.

As museum, it is the best place to learn about the mountain and its area in Bali. And also about Balinese culture, people, animals, environment, and history. It does not require an entrance fee. It is open during weekdays.nnSadly, the displays are not maintained seriously, including the flow. The only available information sheets are the printed version that mounted on the wall. It should be added with enriched audio-visual contents. Particularly, there is no person who is assigned to accompany and explain the information to the quests.

Entry to this spectacular museum and parking is free.n(Just north of the museum, at the archway in my photograph, is a police post where entry fees may be charged to visitors to the Kintamani and Batur area during the day).nThe museum is huge with many audiovisuals and models of the big bang theory, formation of our galaxy and the solar system and Earth. Also the formation and history of Mount Batur and other volcanoes. Many large samples of the differently formed volcanic rocks.nThere is also a large cultural section.nClean, western style sit down toilets with Indonesian water spray.
