An utter waste of time.nnI showed up in a fair amount of distress. I had a visa issue and also a credit card issue, but could make no phone calls on my Indonesian SIM card.nnAfter going through a security check more thorough than the airport, my issues were listened to silently - and then I was told that I was on my own. They would make no phone calls to help me, and provide no letters of assistance - not even any documentation that I had visited the consulate. To make matters worse, the advice given was inaccurate.

USA Consulate CottagennFor those familiar with massive USA Consulates and Embassies elsewhere, this consulate is a breath of fresh air. Phone calls are typically picked up on the first ring, many times by the attaché himself, questions are always clearly answered. And visits there are always pleasant, the guards are friendly but professional, the setting is picturesque (pity no cameras allowed), and all the staff are upbeat. I actually look forward to my visits there - thanks for serving overseas Americans so well.nnNote - Google maps has the location place correctly but pay attention on last KM as it consistently tells you to turn the wrong way ud83eudd26ud83cudffb‍♂ufe0fnnAlso, Bali Bakery is just up the street and a nice place for pastry and coffee before/after a Consulate visit.

Quick and friendly service. I got my passport renewed and documents notarized twice, and it was always a smooth experience. As a bonus they're not very busy, so you can get an appointment pretty quickly, sometimes same day.
