Kartchner is one of our top 3 favorite places to stay in all of Arizona. We last stayed for 5 days over Memorial Weekend in #51 with our travel trailer. Gorgeous! You probably do this too, but the first time we visit a place, we'll drive through the entire campground, and write down the sites we like. Then we prioritize the best of the best site #s that meet our needs. Getting the right site can make a huge difference in your enjoyment level. But you really can't go wrong at Kartchner. Lots of walking trails, nice-sized RV sites, quiet and private if you want it to be. It's well-cared for and we are grateful for the work that has gone into this park, past and present, so we can all be in awe and enjoy it. We go on a different cave tour each visit and it's always an amazing experience - both Mother Nature's miracles and the knowledge of the tour guides. Kartchner is the perfect combination of relaxation and recreation.

When we arrived at the front gate for our 3 night stay the little lady with the bat earrings was super friendly, upbeat and happy. Our site was pull thur and big. Good space between sites, cabins looked great and bathrooms/showers where one of the best I’ve seen at a park. They also have a family bathroom/shower that was wonderful for our two Down syndrome adults. Big room Cavern was great and our tour guide was super, Ed a volunteer. Everyone was happy!

Very nice RV spots. We were in a blacktop back in spot with our 38' class A with Jeep tow . Lots of room. #33 - water & electric.nClean grounds and bathrooms. Showers were ok. Not much water pressure and water was warm not very hotDump station & water.nGets really busy on the weekends with family & college kids.nWe had a couple really windy nights so secure all outside stuff and pull in awnings.nWe did laundry in Benson.nThe Big room tour was the only one open. It was well worth it. Very cool!nNice trails too.

The campground and cave were beautiful but the regulations are excessive. On the cave tour you’re not allowed to take photos, you’re a not allowed to even take a cell phone or any sort of bag/purse inside. Everything that doesn’t fit in your pocket must be left in a locker. The walkway is wide and open so it’s not about fitting thru tight spaces. Inside, you’re told exactly where to stand and sit. The cement walkway has cement curb edges, which your not allowed to touch. One Ranger leads the group and one follows you, watching your every move. Fortunately the cave is beautiful because the tour feels a bit like being a convict led to a new cell.

Amazing tour and impressive caverns. The care taken to preserve this sight is simply incredible. Such detail has been placed in making sure this cavern last for decades to come, for all to enjoy. And the sheer size of the cavern is mind blowing, to imagine the excitement of discovering such a place is breath taking. A must see when visiting the Tucson area!
