A defense facility was constructed in the form of a concrete-lined bunker that was established in strategic places, especially near the coastline. One of the places that the bunker was built was Kalimaro, Bagelen, which is in the south of the Menoreh hills and is still close to the south coast. This place was chosen because it is located at the top of a hill which provides a clear view of the defenders and conversely the enemy will have difficulty attacking the defenders above (Rotmann, 2003; 9). In addition to anticipating enemy landings on the south coast, Japan also made Pendem Kalimaro Fortress as a place to spy on the Cilacap-Yogyakarta land route that crosses Bagelen.nFor the pendem fort / Japanese cave in Parangtritis Jogja, there are about 20 caves, some are horror, you can check the video on the OHOL COMMUNITY Youtube Channel.
