Great spot to rest before starting a trek into the valley. House for backpackers with shared shower and kitchen. We left one of our backpacks with no charge. They also offer laundry service per 50k per one use, enough for all clothes you bring from the trek.nSteve and Michelle were very helpful.

We found this guesthouse because of a recommendation.nnPricing is high but decent for Wamena: 450k per room.nGuesthouse offers a kitchen, warm shower, laundry and help if you are looking for quality guide.nnOur guide: Kipenus is his name. Amazing guy, senior Baliem Valley guide and a local Dani tribe member.nnWe did the 6 day trekking (Kilise 2 nights, Syokosimo 2 nights and Seima 1 night) It was amazing.nOur team was one guide, one porter and one cook. we slept locally and did witness a wedding including traditional cooking.nnThere is so much to explain about the trip it was our highlight of 3 months South East Asia.nnIf you are looking for a good room and great guides. This is the place to be.nnDennis/Lillian.

The best and only budget homestay in wamena. Runs by Ruth and her family, the place is walkable from airport (2kms) and all eateries. Ruth have recommended a guide for us as we did not want to take the tour packages which was unreasonable. We went to wamena without much plans but it turns out we had the best guide in all of wamena (Kanak) , who speaks good English who is really funny , trustworthy and efficient. We would Highly recommend Ruth guesthouse and Kanak as a guide for baliem valley trek.

The place was clean and ok, cost 300k a night, but I found the owner not so friendly. Breakfast normally included, but dont expect too much. Possible to leave bags during a hiking trip for 40k à day ...
