Some very interesting paintings and great ceramics. Also a very cheap entrance fee only 5000k ... they could easily charge more. The collection is small and strangely many of the paintings were not hanging straight.

Easily accessible with public transport. If you are totally free with nothing else to do for the day, worth pay a visit to this museum. It is a fairly lean furnishings. The air conditioning is still not working yet, it would be great if there’s at least stand fan for better ventilation. Admission fee is IDR5K.nnOne section at the upper floor, the timber flooring and spiral staircase are stored in it’s original form.nnAfter visiting the museum, we had a meal at the Batavia. It is a nice 2-storey restaurant with colonial interior and ambiance. On the upper floor, one can enjoy the view of the museum and Fatahillah Square. My only qualms of the restaurant is that most the imported beers and cakes are out of stocks. The staff are friendly, the one who served us speaks English well.

Good artworks. Pleasing to see. A lot of valuable artistic treasures. However, the building is not well presenting. The rooms are hot, no ventilation, no fans or air conditioning, the windows are huge but useless. The rooms smell fungus, damp and the air is heavy. The lights are not helping in upgrading the artworks presentation, they only making it worst, heaten up the room to the limit that observing the artworks become so pressured, not enjoyable. The ticket is really cheap.
