We love the food it was delicious! For sure coming back. The pasta i and fried rice was a success on our table, couldn't have enough. Loved the chicken dumplings and steak skewers. Everything was delicious But mashed potatoes of powder is not appropriate. Often some options from menu are not available. Unfortunately, no soups. Also I bought not fresh turkish lukum in their store.Their party platter can serve 6 to 8 people's. Very good variety of stuff in it plus awesome price

I am veey partial to Shingle Inn, probably partly for sentimental reasons, it is a sweet spot for a rendezvous or to while away time on one's own when one 'just wants a cuppa'.

Cute little place. No visit or life in Brisbane should be attempted without a visit to The Shingle Inn, the iconic 1936 walnut panelled cafe bakery beloved by generations of Brisbane dwellers. For not only is it an exquisite place to dine and take tea but its story adds an interesting layer to the experience.

Spending choose to $100 for high tea should be an amazing experience. Place is dirty and unclean. Service is slow and unenthusiastic. We had to ask every time we needed a drink etc. If we didn't ask, I don't believe we would have been spoken to other then the initial order. The dirty rotating cake stand in the centre of the room, sets the mood for everything this place stands for. Not impressed, especially driving up from the GC for the experience.

Usually good food & service at other Shingle Inns but went to Shingle Inn City Hall today on quiet weekday with terrible service. Took 10-15 minutes before they took my order then another 45 minute wait when it was quiet. When I asked them about the wait the young girl couldn’t care less & still didn’t offer any apology.nThe Grazier sandwich (fancy steak sandwich) wasn’t very nice either with a pretty tough steak to chew. However the beer battered chips are nice & my wife enjoyed her sliders.nUnfortunately would not recommend this location & will not return when staff service & couldn’t care less attitude is quite bad. I won’t return to City Hall location but would still go to certain other Shingle Inn’s.
