Lake Shawnee Campground

The park was busy, but that’s to be expected for a Friday night. The 50 amp section was very crowded compared to the 30 amp side. It was fairly quite and mostly clean. It was nice being right on the water. We did not use their facilities so I can’t comment on that. The lady in the office was very nice. We arrived late Friday night but couldn’t figure out how to pay. She was understanding and had no issues with us paying in the morning. Not bad for a cheap overnight stay.

Nice campground

If this campground had sewer hookup, I would live here! Clean, quiet, beautiful sites and spectacular lake. Water, 50 amp electric and only $18.00 to overnight. Oh, and less than 5miles off I-70. We'll be back..next time through.ud83dude0aud83dudc95

Clean, friendly, cheap!!! The bathrooms looked great even at 8pm at night! Campsites kept their volume to themselves except when asked to TURN IT UP! They even sell firewood at the main gate;-) Far out man.

Booked this campground in advance and over the phone. We were driving across the country and were not familiar with the area. The staff encouraged us it was a great site with lots of shade. When we arrived the campground seemed nice, however driving to our tent site we were disappointed. There is barely any room in between you and the other campers. This is not something we were expecting, especially during a pandemic, and would have assumed the campground would have done better at following procedures. Also, the site we had was not shaded at all. We called about moving to a different site, but the once friendly staff turned rude and offered no solution. We ultimately decided to leave and even confronted the staff face to face. But even then they were not helpful and seemed to not care about us as guests. Will not be back and will not recommend it to any friends.
