Very nice. Only issue is #20 is down about thirty steps down from the parking. I got hot and a bit tired getting down here but it's very nice. Should stay shady all day.

This is a CA State Park full of protected wildlife. Bears, Mountain Lions, Deer, Owls, Turkeys, Honkers (Canadian Geese), Bald Eagles, Hawks, Hummingbirds, Blue Belly Lizards, snakes and more. (Although, we never saw the Bears or Mountain Lions.) Campground is known for its rattlesnakes which like to come out at night. Just use a flashlight to avoid stepping on them, keep your distance and call the Ranger if you see one so they can relocate the snake. Please check parks.ca.gov for rules and regulations. Use of campfires and charcoal is prohibited during the summer. Makes sense as it's like a tinder box during that season. The road down to the campground (Rattlesnake Bar Road) is about 30 mins and narrows to one lane. My point is to make sure you have all your supplies and proper cooking equipment (propane/butane stove) with you because getting to the store is not convenient. Closest store is in Cool, CA a roughly 45 min drive. Campground has terrific hiking trails and history! Staff is friendly and knowledgeable! We were the Campground Host and Park Aide for a season and thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

Nice location and was quiet when we were there. Park rangers we're friendly and when we drove in they were walking to campsites with kids doing some sort of nature show. All-in-all a nice campground and it would have been perfect except for the rain. Seriously though, the bathroom near our site was both filthy from campers and it pretty bad disrepair. Clean up the place and it could be easily 4 stars. To all other visitors to the camp, it's a park not a dump, treat it as such or stay home.nnAdvise:n- if you come from highway 50 do NOT take Salmon Falls road if anyone gets slightly carsick. Drive through Shingle Springs and Lotus out to Highway 49.n- entry road is twisty, narrow and a little rundown. Be careful if you're towing a trailer. You can tell when you get to the state land because the road got so much nicer.n- the lake is awesome at dusk.

Great lake, Folsom Lake at this location for swimming, kayaking, and just kid's water play. Lake water is surprisingly cool, not icy cold and warm compared to other lakes. Down side is there is too much debris. Also tree branches on the roads aren't trimmed well enough so RVs and trailers get scratched. Also the road to get to the park is treacherous with narrow lanes and lots of sharp turns.

Completely disappointed in this campground. We were assured our site would be on the lake. We couldn't even see the lake from our spot. Charged us extra for having a kayak. No hookups available. Other campers were very loud partiers, Very deceptive website. We will never go back nor will we ever recommend this campground.
