One of the best volcano hikes. As it's a remote island not many people trekking this mountain. We found the trek hard as it was raining and the rocks were very slippery and dangerous. I would recommend carrying a rope if the weather is bad. Our guide Ramadan from Hattarua guesthouse was very helpful he even made a make shift rope from a jungle creeper, Rama being a local guy new the terrain well was very helpful and a friendly guy.

If you ever go to tahuna , this is one for the list. Locals usually take 3 hours to the summit but due to rain we took a little more than 4 hours on small paths uphill and fern covered way. But once on the top, it was simply amazing . Not as popular and well known among the many volcanic mountains in indonesia but it will definitely not let you down. We took a guide and with a recommendation of our guesthouse, hattarua. Recommend.
