This is the village where my parents come from, I used to live here, never heard of the name BINGIN JUNGUT TEMPLE, but I have never seen it directly, just heard, before I heard there was also a pair of statues in the water in this village, wallahualam ,,

The Bingin Jungut Temple is located on the east side of the Musi River on a flat plot of land. Stretching to the north towards the southeast there is a land embankment measuring about two meters high. To the southeast of the embankment it turns south, and from the south the embankment continues westward. The length of the entire embankment is around 700 meters. In the west, at a distance of about 50 meters, the Musi River flows towards the north. On that side the cliffs of the Musi River are quite steep with a height of about 20 meters. Towards the southwest, at a distance of about 200 meters there is the Sungai Tapi which empties into the Musi River.n nThe Bingin Jungut site is located on the east side of the Musi River in Binginjungut Village, Muara Kelingi District, Musi Rawas Regency, South Sumatra Province. The site was first reported by Schnitger in 1937 in his book The Archeology of Hindoo Sumatra. He further mentioned that from the site there were four-armed Awalokiteśwara statues (now stored in the National Museum, D-216-247) and unfinished Buddha statues (now stored at the Balaputradewa Palembang Museum).nnThe four-armed Awalokitecawara Arca is depicted in a standing position (measuring 192 cm high) and uses a crown with Buddha Amithaba decoration. On the back there is a sign that reads // daŋ ācāryya syuta //. The statue is Arcaha Mahāyana which was made in place after endraailendra's family came to power in Java in the 7th-9th century AD. Based on the form of writing from around the 8th century AD.n nThe unfinished Buddha statue is depicted in the tread position of the right hand is directed forward, while the left hand is covered in a robe. The lower part of the statue has not been finished. The Buddha statue included Mahāyana Buddha which was made in place and may have existed when I-Tsing settled in īrīwijaya.nnIn 1997 and 1998 the Palembang Archaeological Hall held archaeological research on the site. From the research he did, the team managed to find the foundation structure of the brick building. However, because there are not many boxes that have been dug, or maybe the condition of the structure has been damaged, the shape and size of the building plan has not been known. Apart from the damaged site, in the area in the past there were a group of people who were Buddhists.
