Imagine testing your limits early in the morning before sunrise, that's what this was. An early morning hike from the base camp to the top of the mountain to get a beautiful view of the sunrise and It was worth it. The base camp has food at the bottom so you can stay up till late chat with other travelers (mostly locals) everyone in Medan is super friendly and you'll really love it. Food is cheap and also hiring a guide which is recommended doesn't cost too much either I believe we paid about 20NZD, you camp with tents and there's bathrooms there too.
