Mansinam Island

Known as the Gospel Island, Mansinam is one of the most attractive tourist spot in Manokwari. From the port of Ketapang, you can rent a boat for Rp 300,000 return trip to go to this island. There are several kiosk that sells snacks and foods in this island, but other than that it was a pretty quiet island with only 800 inhabitants. From the port of Mansinam, take a route uphill and walk about 30-45 minutes to see the Jesus Christ statue. There’s also a hidden beach in the back area of this island where you can snorkle.

Beside historical site for christianity in Papua, as the first place missionary came to Papua in 1855. The place offers beautiful landscape. White beach sand, Beautiful scenery in the hill top where the Giant Jesus statue is. The surrounding sea areas also offers a good place to snorkel and dive. There is dive site with a WWII shipwreck near the island. Beautiful corals and fishes can be found near the island. There is a small lagoon in the tip of the island. Selain itu, lautnya cukup indah untuk snorkeling dan diving. Terdapat bangkai kapal PDII yang menarik untuk dijadikan tempat menyelam. Koral dan ikan yang beragam cukup menarik untuk di lihat. Jika anda datang ke pulau Mansinam sesudah hujan atau angin, akan terlihat banyak sampah yang terdampar di pantai, terbawa dari Manokwari.
