Golden Tulip Balikpapan Hotel & Suites

The palce where u can see the full scenery of balikpapan city. The higher the room you reserved, the better of scenery you will get. Such a great five star hotel. There are clean rest room, swimming pool facing toward the beach. The beach scenery also great

I gave one star because I expected high from a big name brand such as Golden Tulip. Extra effort was given to make sure that staycation went well, all the bad things happened to other reviewers are taken care of. But my trust was misplaced.nIf you are interested to find out more, feel free to read my review below.nSo you would like to spend a staycation with your family. You would like to provide the best for your family because everyone deserves a small celebration after the long quarantine period.nYou look for a hotel that has good some ratings. Golden Tulip is a reputable brand.There is one at Batu and it was good I was told. And it was just recently renovated. You are in for a treat!nYou have done your due diligence, check the review in Agoda 8.1 , Google review 4.1. 4 Star hotel. Not bad. When you looked at the bad complaints they are mainly things petty and not applicable to me. 1 hour check in delay. You think you can mitigate this by telling them that you will be coming early.nThings started to go wrong from check-in. At 15:00 the Golden Suite was not ready, even though the check out time is at 12:00, and check-in period is at 14:00. It was a self-fulfilling prophecy. We waited for another 1 hour and was desperate for a room because staying indoor with a crowd of people is the last thing you would like to do during this new normal. Staff was non-chalant to our predicament. My earlier request for early check-in was blatantly ignored.nThe room was cleaned as per requested. It has all the required amenities of a suite. Until we found out about the brown water in the bathtub. The sight was distasteful and it delivers the last blow to this staycation and I stopped writing this review because I just lost faith in this hotel and its brand.

2 weeks here...poor service, only 1 lift is operated for 20 floor buildings...
