This station has not been used since 2007, but since along with the construction of New Yogyakarta International Airport (NYIA) and the operation of the airport train that connects Yogyakarta and airport, there's a plan to re-activate this station considering its location close to NYIA (about 8 km). The main building consider was built in 1887 together with the construction of the railway from Yogyakarta to Cilacap.
