Cocktails were delicious. Staff were accommodating and friendly. A little pricey.

Great place to grab a handcrafted cocktail with a chill speak easy environment. I love the concept here of the open community table in the middle. I’ve heard the founder was an award winning bar tender in Bali and then open this location.nnThe cocktail menu is a fusion of popular drinks and local flavor. Think old fashion with the added local liquor of Arak. Each drink has such a unique flavor.nnThe service was great as the bartender took the time to explain each of the drink to us. Since the bar was a little slow, he explained to us the local flavors that make up each of the drinks.nnI ordered then- Taboo (Local infused old fashion, light sugar)n- Akademi Negroni (A normal Negroni with the some added flavor)nnThe Location is right next to the famous Potato Head hotel and bar.

WOW! I so glad we made the walk to find this place. I’m from Seattle and I really enjoy some good craft cocktails and Akademi Bar was spot on. They use homemade bitters, also have some homemade Negroni, Manhattan, that they premix in a oak barrel and let sit for 30 days. The Manhattan was very good and strong. I also tried the cocktail call Taboo which was very close to an old fashion which are my favorite. The service was amazing and the bartender was so good at explaining the drinks and also very good conversation with him. If you are looking for some very good craft cocktails for a great price (expensive for the area but cheap for what you are getting. These drinks are easy $20 Usd+ in Seattle, USA) They accept credit card with no extras fees.

AMAZING cocktail spot! I always lament not being able to find good craft cocktails outside the US but this certainly delivers and beats expectations.nnMany ingredients (various infused araks) here are homemade and also indigenous like the curcuma powder.nnI really liked the Temu-Lawak and 51B but the Negroni is also quite nice. The bartender was very conversational the whole time and walked us through the thought processes behind the creations of the cocktails.

Fancy cocktail ingredients and good service. But the drinks are weak and expensive.
