This is a nice, small campground. Clean and very well taken care of. Staff was friendly and helpful. Sites aren't all huge, but there enough trees that you have some privacy. Beautiful playground, unfortunately closed (along with kayak rentals) due to Covid. We enjoyed the walking trails. Showers are a little bit of a hike, easier to take the car. Only downside (which didn't affect us during the week, and has been the case at other campgrounds we've been to lately) is that a lot of bathroom stalls and showers are closed for social distancing, which means there is more likely a line or toilet paper runs out. But we'd be happy to go again.

We've come here two years in a row and are likely to come back. Our campsites were spacious and well laid out. The fireplaces are great for radiating heat out toward cold campers while the bathrooms seem well maintained. They are pretty strict with the rules and one person seemed a bit grumpy when we called for info as we approached. We had to pull teeth to get basic info. You can't bring firewood from more than 50 miles away but they also don't sell any at the campsite. There's also no cell service at the campsite and very spotty to the north and west so be prepared.

Lovely local place. Trails are mostly well kept. Some areas still need maintenance after recent major storm. Some paths are desire lines and not marked.

This is a gorgeous campground with beautiful tall pines and shaded tent sites, huge rock fire pits with grills, a separate huge dish washing station, exquisitely clean bathrooms and showers, and a cute lake + hiking trail. They are a bit strict - staying within the “site pad” is apparently a thing and we had to move our tent after already setting it up. Our pad though, site 4, was steep and full of rocks and tree roots, and we had another two tents to set up, hence why we chose a flatter part just a few feet away next to the “pad”. Other sites are flatter and more spacious from what we could see. A sign or pamphlet upon entry to indicate this pad enforcement is needed. Noise ordinance is also very strictly enforced(which is fine, but early at 10pm). Regardless, we’ll be returning to KLW as it is truly one of the best campgrounds near NYC.

I took my daughter here for her first time camping. I was reluctant because of COVID but this campground was perfect & there weren't many other people camping here. The grounds are beautiful and well taken care of. They offer nice walking trails, a nature hike, fishing, & a pond to use kayaks. One thing I wish I knew beforehand is there is absolutely NO Cell Service. It was good to disconnect for a bit & I got limited service in the town 20 minutes away.
