Zakat is one of the pillars of Islam, which is obligatory (fard) for every Muslim who has fulfilled certain conditions. Zakat is included in the category of worship, and is regulated in detail based on the Qur'an and As Sunnah, as well as a social charity and humanity that can develop in accordance with the development of humanity. One of the obligations of Zakat is Zakat Fitrah; zakat which Muslims must pay before Eid al-Fitr in the month of Ramadan. The amount of Zakat is equivalent to 2.5 kilograms of staple food in the area concerned. Other Zakat is zakat maal (zakat of wealth).
