Masji Almujiba Dusun Selayar

Al Mujibah Mosque is one of the very few mosques in Manyeuw District, considering that other villages in Manyeuw District have a Catholic majority and only Ohoi Selayar has a Muslim majority. Founded in the 1980s along with several Inpres Elementary Schools on Kei Kecil Island, this mosque is located on the coast with the building's foundations side by side with sea water. Apart from worshiping the Ohoi Selayar people, the Al Mujibah Mosque is also sometimes visited by Muslims from villages outside Manyeuw District to worship, namely Ohoi Debut, Dian Pulau, and Ohoi Letvuan (Hoat Sorbay District).nnDue to age and weather factors, now the Al Mujibah Mosque is no longer as strong as it used to be. The foundations of the mosque which began to be porous and eroded by sea water when the tide rose caused this mosque to be in a dangerous condition. In addition, during the West Monsoon (around October-April), the wind gusts from the South China Sea to the Banda Sea which brought strong wind currents and waves of sea water caused the roof and ceiling of the mosque to become damaged and had holes on many sides. The wall density also decreases in line with the increasing intensity of monsoon wind waves from year to year due to climate change. This makes the mosque in danger of collapsing and due to its condition, the congregation who will worship is in danger. Therefore, a fundamental repair is needed for the Al Mujibah Mosque, namely through renovation of the mosque building structure and reconstruction of several supporting facilities / infrastructure.rworship, such as ablution places, mosque roofs, and mosque fences to keep the congregation safe from falling into the sea, considering that the Al Mujiba Mosque itself faces directly off the Banda Sea.nnIn Ohoi Selayar, the clan authorized to become the imam of the mosque is the Harbelubun clan. Now this mosque is led by the imam, Mr. Nurdin Harbelubun. He is a very friendly and kind person, and so is His family.nnAl Mujibah Mosque has long been a witness to the history of various events in Ohoi Selayar, one of which is the replacement of several Chief Ohoi Officers, starting from being led by Mr. Samsudin Takerubun for a dozen years, then being replaced by Mr. Moksen Harbelubun, until the inauguration of the definitive Chief Ohoi Soa in July 2019 (Mr. Amir Hamzah Takerubun) and the temporary appointment of the current Chief Ohoi Officer, namely Mr. L understand Sampulawa.nnThis mosque also witnessed our personal experience of undergoing real work lectures (KKN) at Ohoi Selayar in June-August 2018. I used to live in a house right in front of this mosque, namely the house of Mr. Langgaita Burungasih and Mama Murana Burungasih. . Both are my parents and Dani Setyawan, my best friend in the same house.nnIn the past, every time it was dusk, my teammates always took the time to enjoy the sunset on the Selayar pier. Faintly accompanying the sunset, there was the sound of the call to prayer from the Masjid Al Mujibah accompanying the changing days of our stay in Selayar. Very emotional and moving experience.
