This quiet little natural harbor, the oldest in Rote, with a fishing village and beautiful beach is a perfect place to relax and spend some time exploring. The road to get here is challenging and very broken, from Bo’a to Oeseli on google maps says 30 minutes, but the whole trip took closer to an hour.nnIn the east bay there are several sailing vessels anchored. Some look to be liveaboard some seem to be for recreational use. These are mixed in with some local boats, including one that was for hire to go to the secret lake. On the west side is more where the fishing vessels are and is not as beautiful but would be a good place to get fresh fish.nnNear by there is also a beautiful lake called Nirwana with crystal clear waters. You can take a boat across the bay and hike in 5 minutes to the edge of the lake.nnRight at the beach there are countless starfish as well as many types of corals and other sea life. The water is very clear and lends itself to snorkeling but also just walking along the beach and seeing what’s going at the waters edge.
