It is the outermost island of the western Langsa district. The island is very densely populated, the livelihoods of its residents are fishermen. This island only has 1 kindergarten, 1 elementary school and 1 junior high school. Pusong Island is famous for producing salted fish and shrimp paste. These two processed products are made by or are a must for those of you who come by here. Pusong Island itself can be reached by boat or transportation from TPI Kuala Langsa with a travel time of approximately 45 minutes. Unfortunately this island is very short of clean water, the residents use rain water and or buy clean water that is supplied every day from Langsa. The level of sanitation and cleanliness on this island is also quite alarming. Even 5 minutes before the boat rests on the dock, you can see so much garbage scattered in the ocean, even the water around the dock has been mixed with oil. Even though if managed properly, this island has good potential for tourist destinations.
