This place was used to be a garden section of Aceh Royal Palace Complex before razed to the ground by Dutch invader in February 1874. Later on Dutch colonial authority used it as a park. After independence in 1945, the new authority maintain the function of this section of land as a park in the city center. After 2004 tsunami, The City Authority converted it into a playground with many new structures built in it.

The dancing fountain becomes a new attraction here. The lamps under the fountain make the view awesome. The fountain attraction is started from 7 PM to 10 PM. In addition, people with their family and friends often visit this park to hang out and enjoy many kids stuff in the location. This place is perfect for a playground for children.

The park is good but it needs some rejuvenation.
