Suma Guest House

We had a good time there. The staff has been nice and even picked us up from the station, the location is very good, just in front of the river, with a clear view on the jungle and two steps from the centre.nnThe accomodation was good, with beautiful terrace, but very basic (no sink, toiletries, towels). The pillow smelled a bit moldy, probably because of the constant high humidity, but it wasn't that pleasant.

The guest house is in a run down condition and not fit to host anyone. It is a ruin with no water and dirt all around.nMoreover, Robet Tuek (or Misiran) stole all of our belongings, while we where trekking with his own trekking company.nWe went on a 4-day trekking with TrekSumatra (trekking company belonging to Suma Guest House). As the monkeys in the jungle are sometimes take backpacks, Robet offered to store all our valuables including Passports, Credit Cards and all of our money in the safe box. However, upon return Robet was nowhere to be found and also not available on his phone to anyone. No one, including his family had seen him, as he left us hanging without a single IDR and no fresh clean cloth. Thus made last two days of our stay in Sumatra an absolute nightmare.nPeople helping us confirmed that he had done this before and that he is known as an unreliable and fraudulent person. Furthermore, besides betraying us, locals as well as our guide told us, that Robet is not paying the guides repeatedly. TrekSumatra claims to pay fair salaries - well they don't pay any salary at all.nnStay away from Suma Guest House and TrekSumatra - this was an absolute nightmare!!

Perfect hide out in Built Lawang direct on the river opposite the impressive jungle. Clean rooms.and the owners are super nice and cater to all your needs. It is super cheap on top. Go there if you would.like to have an authetic eco friendly jungle experience
