This place is incredible. Angel is the best hotel manager I've come across both city and remote. He will ensure the optimal Bukit Lawang experience. DO NOT book tours until you've spoke with him, seriously. He will negotiate a price with a private guide at the same price as the group tours.nnAnd eat the chicken redang...

The best people! The most fun you will have in the jungle! Couldn’t recommend more - an absolute once in a lifetime experience ! Couldn’t have been looked after better. Great jungle trekking. Incredible views and comfy clean bedrooms. Hope to go back one day.

Incredible food for breakfast and lunch! The porridge was really tasty and yummy! Staff is really lovely and helpful and will ask you again if they don’t get your order. Really honest people. Room wise, it looks nice even though I did not stayed there. Highly recommended for the food!

I can’t recommend a stay in hotel orangutan enough! Great communication from the manager Paul from booking a perfect jungle itinerary and transfers to advising on my jungle shoe purchase!nThe hotel is set into the beautiful Sumatran jungle - you wake up to breath taking jungle views and can take a walk down to the river for a swim with the locals :)nWe went on a 2 day jungle trek with Arman and Andra who were fantastic - friendly, knowledgable and passionate about the jungle and orangutan...their dedication made it tan unforgettable experience. Thank you hotel orangutan team - best trip ever!

What a wonderful place!! Truly special. The staff are the most friendly and kind people you’ll meet, always happy, always singing a song.
