It's the common house of the Sunda Wiwitan community --an ethnic and spiritual group. In 1964, the Indonesian govt banned this faith, prompting thousands of its followers to convert to government-sanctioned religions, mostly Islam and Christianity. In 1965, President Sukarno passed the blasphemy law. But their leaders tried to survive. This building was for decades used as a Catholic church. The community is still surviving. It's fascinating group.
