Nice hike. Medium difficulty. Nice views. We went in the afternoon, and we were the only ones there. After a while half a dozen other people arrived. Not sure if I would have liked it at sunrise with over a thousand others. Not an easy hike in the dark, either. Everyone of our group fell at least once, even our guide. And we're all experienced hikers.

Amazing experience! The hike started at midnight and it took us around 2 hours to get to the summit, where a beautiful sunrise, with us over the clouds, awaited us. We spent some time moving along the crater of this mildly active volcano, where we could see vapor escaping from several openings. During breakfast we saw some monkeys that came to share the meal with us, we then contemplated the beautiful scenery, with Lake Batur in sight, the clouds, the craters and peaks. Finally, the descent was also an enjoyable hike, completing a total distance traveled of 12 kilometers, more if you count moving back and forth on the crater, and an ascent of 1717 meters.

I loved my trip up Mount Batur. The guides were very helpful and friendly, they made food and coffee for everybody and were polite to everyone. The path was easy to use. The views were absolutely breathtaking. I would heartily recommended this experience to anyone who likes walking and stunning scenery!

Number one thing to do in Bali for anyone who enjoys hikes & the outdoors. I can not reccomend this enough. The trek up the volcano is demanding and takes a few hours. But there are plenty of stops and the tour guides are extremely helpful, happy and enjoyable to chat to! Breakfast is provided at the top, eggs cooked in the side of the volcano! Would definitely recommend bringing a jacket as it's cold at the top before the sun rises. The views at sunrise are phenomenal!! Truly a beautiful way to start the day and the most memorable experience of Bali!

So many people, but just get up there and enjoy the view. Spectacular scenery. Our guides were good so would recommend this tour
