Islamic Center & Masjid Baitul Muttaqien Samarinda is the largest mosque in the City of Samarinda and (also in) East Kalimantan Province. This mosque is equipped with facilities to support religious activities. We visited this mosque at the end of last year, when our family was traveling around East Kalimantan, the recitation was held after praying the dawn prayer, and this also seems to be broadcast to all corners of Samarinda via the mosque radio channel. Besides having a large yard, other things that are unique to the mosque, which is located on the bank of the Mahakam river, are its very big bedug (drum) and its tall tower.

What a great mosque! Feeling comfortable every time we visit here. Just make sure you pray here when you're in Samarinda.nToo bad can't enjoy the city view from the tower due to the pandemic.

Nice place! Even Im not muslim but I quite often bring my son & daughter here for a walk & riding bike. People there also very welcome but remember to wear proper clothes when you visit here (no u can see tops or short pants/skirt).
