Rinjani Mountain Garden

Love this place. peaceful and really had great memories.

Amazing place to relax for a few days. The view is amazing and they have a swimming pool with fresh water so you can swim there all day long and then sit in the bar drink something. From there you can also walk around and explore the area which is amazing.

Jihan and Andi are the managers/owners of this very beautiful lodge, currently having 8 bungalows (4 with outside toilets) with 2 more in preparation.nThe place is quite unique, lost on the slope of mighty Rinjani, and offering a beautiful view of the fields, the ocean (far far far away ) and of course Rinjani volcano (when not cloudy).nThe little bungalow we stayed, is just fit for 2 people, with the bathroom and an open relax platform on the ground floor, and the bedroom with a terrace on the second floor . Its tiny, and there is no space to put the luggage in the room, so we left our backpack on the terrace..nWe spent two nights, and quite surprisingly, did not feel any humidity, or cold in the room. The temperature stayed around 18 degrees all night.nThe bungalow is made of old recycled wood, and the thatched roof .make a really pretty tiny house with enough power points. The bathroom is well equipped, stone.tiled, with some lukeiwarm water ..nIts a good place.to organise excursions to waterfalls, or climb Rinjani if you feel.fit.nWe had our own car, so it was easy to get there, although the mountain road is really curvy, and the last 300 m to the lodge are quite steep. If you dont drive, the best is to arrange a pick up with the owner, that's the cheapest way to get there.nThere are many animals, 2 horses, some gooses, dogs, one hornbill, and plenty of birds and cats.nFriendly Jihan is very welcoming and makes you feel at home immediately. Andi has a first class guest relation manager in her ud83dude0b.nA very relaxing place, with some simple menu and a splendid welcome.

This is a very split review - please read.nFor the location and food this place is hands down 5* - the accommodation is also lovely and Toni the host was super friendly and helpful.nnHOWEVER the atmosphere is strange, Roland sits around half naked drinking every night and barking orders rudley at his staff. It is also a long way to pretty much anywhere so it's difficult to eat anywhere else.nnIf you want a beautiful, remote setting with a nice natural pool + delicious food then this is a great place to stay. Just don't expect to go anywhere else or receive a friendly reception from the locals (they do not like Roland).
