Balai is a Minang language which can mean a week or market, but in this case it means a building or place used as a meeting place for traditional leaders to gather together to discuss issues that arise in the indigenous community of a region in this case the nagari.nAlmost all the villages in the province of West Sumatra have a traditional hall, but the conditions vary depending on whether or not the relevant traditional culture of the village is relevant.nThe most well-preserved traditional nagaro salayo traditional hall.
