While a bit pricey, the seafood comes in large portions and is fresh straight from the kelong. It's not air conditioned, but thankfully there are plenty of ceiling fans. Dimly lit, though. It can get noisy if full, so I recommend coming a bit earlier and time yourself for a sunset dinner.nnCome for the atmosphere, stay for the food.nnTry the live fish and prawns.

Kelong Restaurant is run by the Nirwana Gardens resorts. That should already hint to you that this place is overpriced.nnIf you are a vegetarian, there might seem to be a few options here but be ready to eat really bland food. We tried the vegetarian fried rice, sea coconut dessert, honeydew sago dessert and a couple of mocktails. The food was average in taste and the price was exorbitantly high.nnYou wallet will be squeezed for the unique ambiance only. The restaurant sits on the ocean on support beams. At night, with all the lights on, the hut-like structure of the restaurant looks magical like something out of Spirited Away.nnThere is a bridge/pier that leads from the restaurant to the Calypso bar which is also on the water. The bar seemed fully equipped to meet your alcohol needs including a small toilet. The jazzy neon decor of the tiny bar makes for good pictures at night.

Had a wonderful meal here, ordered the prawns, crayfish, vegetables and squid. Every dish was well thought of and tasted really fresh and good. Portions were all just nice for 2 person when you order small size. Food served fast and piping hot. Truly the best meal I had in Bintan. (Especially with the limited choices available on this island near the resort areas). Definitely a must come place for a meal!

Nice restaurant by the coast with nice ambience, especially at dawn. Food is rather pricey, but delicious. Just be careful about ordering too much as the ‘small’ portion is rather huge. Able to enjoy a nice stroll after dinner back to the resort from it.

Nothing beats eating seafood above the ocean. The ambience and fragrance of the sea, accompanied by the soft background beating of the waves against provide a sense of serenity. The gentle sea breeze brushing on my face is really out of the world experience.nnAs the waiter slowly present the food and place it on our table, it is extremely picturesque. Each dish is like an art and each bite was sure pleasure. In fact, I had the pleasure to know that the chef is a Singaporean.nnThe whole meal has become one of those very special moment and plus the fact that all the waiters and waitresses are so friendly, they make us feel so welcoming. I definitely wouldn't mind coming back again to have another out of the concrete jungle experience.
