My mother visited Bali and purchases a cat's eye ring for $64 in Kapal-laut. I was worried that it maybe fake stone, but it has legit looking website, facebook, etc so she trusted the shop and made the purchase. The item description in the website did not mention that the cat’s eye was fake, so my mom bought a ring with a imitation glass (which is worth a dollar or so). I contacted customer service and they said that even if we have the purchase record on our card, they cannot give us any compensation unless we have the physical receipt, which of course was gone by the time we realized that the ring was in fact a piece of glass. The store’s customer support said that it was never their intention to lie, and that they tell the truth when asked... which is lying by omission in this case. I wonder if any gemstone in that shop is authentic. I would never visit this shop; you can but jewelry with fake stones so much cheaper in just about anywhere, and it would be better to invest a few more bucks and get the real thing if you are looking for something with gemstone.
