Absolute beauty! This hidden gem is a great challenge because you have to go down lots of stairs (thousands if not hundreds) to reach the spring water on the cliff side. The way back (going up) is even crazier, so make sure you rest well and have a good dip in the spring water before leaving and going through the journey back. Not recommended for those who has phobia of height because most parts of rhe stairways are in the edge of a cliff.

One of the most spectacular places in Penida. Long hike to the temple but it’s worth it. If you’re lucky you will see the ceremony and it’s an amazing experience. So epic.nWear proper shoes. And be very careful. There’s pools down there where you can swim watching the waves but the road to them is very slippery. Hati hati ud83dude4f

dont use the sarong they offer if you are innwet from sweat, better take your own sarong.. otherwise the color of sarong will fade away and destroy your tshirt and short, mine completely destroy because we went down to the temple, and there are small pond for swim, and we keep the the sarong with us while we get wet and all color come to my short and shirt..i hate that, my tshirt more expensive than the price of the ticket entry!!!

Peguyangan replaced Tembeling as our favourite spot. Primarily a temple for local families to worship at, it’s also built to honour Nyai Roro Kidul, the queen of the Southern Sea (Indian Ocean) as she is said to meditate in the waterfalls.nnArriving at Peguyangan you will find a small Warung and locals renting sarongs. The sarongs cost 10k each. Others have spoken about a parking cost that we were never confronted with.nnAgain, you are warned of the steep and scary stairs. Heights are one of my biggest fears and yet I barely flinched at all. Don’t worry, you’ve got this! The most famous photo spot is right before the first big descent, quite high up on the mountain.nnWe have also heard a lot about people stopping half way or saying that the bright blue steps are the only attraction! No ways! Keep your sarongs on, it’s worth it I promise!nnYou can walk around and admire the unbelievably clear pools, sit and stare out at the ocean with the backdrop of a cliff and ambience of waterfalls or partake in some religious customs.nnNow you may also hear rumours that there is no waterfall there, there is, in fact there are about 3. They are waterfalls by definition and we loved them, but that’s not the biggest attraction.nnWalk up to the highest temple and walk a little further, down the stairs with flowing water and along the edge of the cliff to our ultimate spot on Nusa Penida. A pipe channels the pure mountain water in a sort of waterfall style to a set of 3 pools. Sporting Penida’s famous turquoise blue, the pool on the edge is the most perfect place to enjoy sunset. Waterfalls, the ocean and an infinity pool in absolutely pure water; the feeling is incomparable.nnDon’t forget your 750 stair climb back to the top though! The roads back home were smooth, the air was crisp and we were on top of the world!
