Such a beautiful spot! It was nice, quite, and well kept. The firewood was easy to find. Not far from town.nWe stayed here 6 days and definitely wanted to stay longer. Will be coming back here for years to come.

Decent stay at beginning of March. Camp hostess could have been more helpful and friendly. Hot water at bathroom sink, no showers. Quiet, lots of birds.

I loved it here. I'm not a fan of crowds, though, and I can see this place getting really crowded during peak season, but I was here just before the President's Day holiday weekend, and it was very peaceful. A lot of the sites are spaced pretty well, all have the standard table, fire pit. I didn't use the restrooms or showers. I had to call recreation.gov to pay for the site (I didn't make reservations in advance), but I got to use a credit card. One note: I heard that there had been thefts in recent months, stuff left outside, including fishing gear. As soon as I heard this, I kept an eye on some people there who were definitely not camping there. Luckily I was next to a very nice neighbor, and we kept an eye on each others' stuff.nnI hiked my dogs for miles, but barely covered the lake. It's huge. Icing on the cake was that I caught fish (smallmouth)! I was in #78 and on the first day that was the protected side...the side with #100 was taking the brunt of a COLD wind. When I was there all sites below #65 were closed for the season.nnAnother nice perk was checkout was 2pm...lots of time to be lazy on the day you leave.

This park was once a real gem, but is suffering from the struggling economy. It had a lot of litter, and people were coming through and stealing water, wood, and toilet paper. This is the first place I have been where someone was stealing the campground toilet paper. They were kind enough to leave just enough for one wipe each morning.nnEven so, the place was lovely to stay at. Great walking around the lake. With just a little effort this could be a true gem of a campground.
