it was an interesting tour in a jeep, but when we were there it was raining and therefore we couldn't see the volcano (mount merapi). our driver took us to 4 spots in the journey. the last one was supposed to be a ride through a river but the river overflowed so we couldn't experience that either. while we were returning back, there was a lot of traffic too so we were waiting in the jeep for a long time. i recommend going to mount merapi only during the indonesian summer season. our trip was very interesting and different but overall it was okay. i also dont recommend going on the trip if you have a 3 year or less kid or senior citizens as the road was quite bumpy. make sure to have some tissues/ wet wipes at hand as there some times when mud splashes on you. if i would have had a choice to go again, i would go but only if it isn't raining.
